Mandela Mile Leadership Programme workshop

The Youth Charter delivered a second Mandela Mile Leadership Programme "Being a Leader - Living our Values" workshop with 30 young leaders from around the world.

This followed on from the successful 2020 workshop and was delivered by YC Founder and Chair Prof. Geoff Thompson MBE FRSA DL, who discussed Sport Activism, Climate Justice and Social Justice in relation to Sport for Development and Peace delivering the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

Participants discussed and completed tasks to develop their knowledge and understanding of: Leadership in the 21st Century; Leadership Values and Excellence; Nelson Mandela the Boxer and Leader; Kofi Annan the Sprinter and Leader. Geoff also presented the Mandela Mile Global Community Campus which is available to the workshop participants to support the projects and programmes they are delivering with young people in their communities.
