Youth Charter and Malbank High School & Sixth Form College
The Youth Charter delivered a Gameswise 2012 programme with Malbank High School and Sixth Form College between 2009 and 2012, including Olympic Enrichments Days and the opening of an Olympic Boulevard, in the run up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The Malbank Gameswise 2012 programme was delivered with pupils from primary schools forming part of the existing feeder school links to Malbank Secondary and Sixth Form College. Despite the semi-rural setting the school represents a challenging environment drawing pupils from a wide range of social backgrounds and having been classified as a failing school. As part of the remedial action taken to address this situation Malbank has developed a strong cultural programme and ethos within the school’s day-to-day learning experience and has been selected by The Youth Charter as part of it’s Citizenship in Action legacy initiative in recognition of Malbank’s Olympic and Paralympic programme of work and their Games 2012 Inspiration Mark.
