Geoff Thompson is former five times world karate champion and sports administrator, which has seen him deliver social and human initiatives with specific emphasis on equality, diversity and inclusion. Geoff also holds a number of private and public board appointments including: London Legacy Development Corporation, Muhammad Ali Center, Deputy Chair of the Organising Committee for Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and Chair of the Independent Advisory Panel of the Professional Footballers’ Association. He has delivered strategies within the bidding, hosting and legacy of major games such as: 1992 Barcelona Olympics, 1997 FIFA World Cup, All Africa Games 1999, Manchester 2000 Olympic Bid, Commonwealth Games 2002 Games, 2010 FIFA World Cup, London 2012 Games, Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. Geoff was awarded an MBE for his services to sport. In 2019 he was included in the Top 100 BAME Leaders in Business List and was named in the Evening Standard’s top 1000 influencers in London. Geoff was also awarded an honorary professorship of the International Business School at Xi’an Jiao tong-Liverpool University, Suzhou, China.
