Community Roadshow-Jobs, careers, and skills event, hosted by B2022 Community Engagement Team, community partner Legacy Centre of Excellence and supported By Clarion Futures.
Aims- Introduce local people to range of jobs, career and skills opportunities before, during and after the Games.
GET IN ON THE ACTION- Jobs and skills campaign was launched on February 17th 2022, to boost applications for contractor roles to deliver the Games. The Community Engagement Teams have been supporting this effort with a newly formed partnership with Clarion Futures. Promoting jobs via community presentations, encouraging expression of interest applications and delivering CV/application writing support in the heart of local communities nearest to Games venues.
This event was the first in a series the team will deliver across the West Midlands, inclusive of Commonwealth sports and additional Games routes to participation through our Community Roadshow.
In response to community feedback, we diversified the messaging of the main jobs campaign to encourage applications and target varied audiences, highlighting the 700+ jobs stills available within the Organising Committee, as well as 20k + contractor vacancies by way of bolstering CV's for future careers in field of sport, events and infrastructure.
Attendees were given the opportunity to listen to a series of presentations delivered by partners and engage with exhibitors on a range of jobs, careers and skills as well as access to employer support service such as CV & application writing. Not only presenting opportunities on offer, but also addressing the barriers to employment and varied audiences.
