Cannock Chase, Staffordshire, UK
Cannock Chase Forest Roadshow is to encourage schools and the local community to get involved in different sporting activities, facilitated by different sporting organisations in partnership with Forestry England, celebrating the official opening of the Blue trail in May 2022.
Cannock Chase Forest to host a joint community engagement event which coincides with the opening of the Blue trail in May 2022. Roadshow will acted as centre piece to the event, generating excitement within communities around the Games by showcasing the many opportunities the games have to offer local people.
As well as the Blue trail, the event saw the opening of Tot’s biking trail and Cannock Chase as venue for neighbouring wards, attracting new audiences into the venue as a local green space for all to utilise and enjoy. The event underpinned core values of both organisations in promoting health, well-being, and increased participation in biking/ physical activity, along with awareness around sustainability and conservation. Maximising usage of the trail across the wider West Midlands highlights the legacy of the Games, by creating accessible and inclusive pathways for local communities to engage.
Cannock Chase with support of B2022 will carry out preliminary educational engagement activity with local school groups about sustainability
