Throughout 2019 the Youth Charter contributed to the Newham Youth Commission with YC Founder and Chair, Professor Geoff Thompson MBE FRSA DL, co-chairing the commission.
The Newham Youth Commission was a multi-agency initiative that provided the opportunity for young people to discuss the Youth Crime and Violence in East London and to develop solutions to these challenges. It started in December 2018 and finished in November 2019.

Youthwise Project Outcomes are set against the following 7 UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that deliver the Youth Charter Community Campus Model and Legacy Cultural Framework:

The Newham Youth Commission included pupils from local schools in Active Citizenship consultation providing young people with the opportunity to learn about participating in the Civic and Political processes.

The Newham Youth Commission discussed the traumatic impact of youth violence and Young Lives Lost on the mental health and well-being of young people and their communities, and how this can be addressed.
