The YC AAA Family Fun Day, which was planned and delivered with the young people and their community @ Abbey Lane Open Space in Newham, east London, on Windrush Day and the Olympic Day weekend, as part of the YC AAA BBC Children in Need We Move Social Action project.
The young people selected and planned the activities for the Family Fun Day. Prior to the event, the young people were baking cakes and making
The Mayor of Newham, Rokhsana Fiaz, attended the event and handed out the prizes for the sports and arts competitions.
The acivities delivered on during the Family Fun Day included:
- 50 m sprint
- Football shoot out
- Basketball shoot out
- Colouring competition
- Face painting
- Cake stand
- Home made jewellery stand
- Refreshment stand (drinks and snacks)

Impact Outcomes
Youthwise Project Outcomes are set against the following 7 UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that deliver the Youth Charter Community Campus Model and Legacy Cultural Framework:
Education
The young people applied maths and literacy skills as part of the planning and preparation, and delivery of the Family Fun Day. The young people had to work to a budget for the purchase of event materials, such as face paints, cooking material and equipment hire. Furthermoer, the young people produced promotinal materials for the event, including flyers and a banner. They also had to create a sight plan for the activities using a map of the sight.
Health
The Family Fun Day included a varity of Sport and Physical Activities, including 50 m sprint, Football shoot out, Basketball shoot out. A football match was also organised on the day by the young people.
Citizenship

The Family Fun Day brought together children, young people, families and other communities, celebrating diveristy and promoting peace, as part of the Windrush Day and Olympic Day weekend.
Environment

The Family Fun Day made use of a public park with the support of Newham Council. The young people ensured the pack was kept clean and tidy on the day by litter picking before, during and after the event.
